James Purdey & Sons, bore 12
An excellent 12g self opening sidelock. The gun was made in 1920 with 30 Inch barrels. According to information by James Purdey & Sons it was made to join as a third gun to a few years earlier ordered pair. So it became part of a "matched trio". Barrel thicknesses; 30 Inch barrels 0.022 & 0.024 and 27 Inch barrels 0.032 & 0.033. Very well figured 14 ¾ Inch stock.
The owner of the gun in 1973 requested Purdey to make extra 27 Inch barrels. The chokes in both barrels are cylinder and improved cylinder. Due to the two barrels with varying lengths this gun has many uses. Well usable gun for all purposes. For high birds in England ideal with the 30 inch barrels, but with the shorter barrels the gun is good company for walked up shooting or ferreting. In short, a versatile combination with these two barrels. The full documentation of James Purdey & Sons is available. The gun is in good condition and will be delivered in the original "Oak and Leather case" with various Purdey accessories.
